The in-app AI agent

Ask questions about your visibility data in plain language, right inside the product.

What it is

Recited has an AI agent built into the app. Open it with the bolt icon or press Cmd+J, and ask questions about your project in plain language:

  • "How did visibility change this week, and why?"
  • "Which prompts do we lose to our top competitor?"
  • "Which domains started citing us this month?"
  • "What should we write next?"

The agent answers from your live project data, and its replies can include charts and links to the exact pages where the underlying data lives, so an answer is always one click from the full view.

It is available on every plan.

What it can do

The agent works with the same tools as the MCP server: the visibility overview, brand and competitor performance, prompt inventory and prompt details, domain and page citations, gap analysis, recent answers, content opportunities, and these docs. It can also take actions you could take yourself in the UI, like adding prompts or kicking off an article draft from an opportunity.

Because it reads the same stored answers as every dashboard, its claims are checkable: when it says a competitor entered three answers yesterday, the answer log has those three chats.

When it beats the dashboards

  • Cross-page questions. "Did the prompts we wrote articles for improve?" spans several pages; the agent joins them in one reply.
  • Why questions. Dashboards show what moved; the agent is good at assembling the story of why, from the answers and citations behind the movement.
  • Onboarding teammates. New team members can ask the agent instead of learning every page first; linking to its sources teaches the product as a side effect.
  • How-do-I questions. The agent can search these docs, so product questions get answered in place.

Usage

Agent conversations draw from the project's daily allowance for agent and MCP requests, shared with connected MCP clients: 300 requests per day on Launch, 1,000 on Scale, 3,000 on Advanced, plus a 30 per minute cap for everyone. Normal interactive use sits comfortably inside those numbers; see rate limits.

Tips

  • Be specific with time. "Since last Tuesday" beats "recently".
  • Ask for the evidence. "Show me the answers behind that" turns a summary into receipts.
  • Use it as a starting point, not a landing page: follow its links into the product, where the full filters and drill-ins live.
