Chrome extension
Place drafted comments in Reddit and YouTube reply boxes, find who to email on outreach pages and open the pitch in your own mail client. You press Post and Send.
What it does
The growth board drafts replies, video comments and pitches; the extension is the hands. It never posts a comment or sends an email. It puts the text where it goes and you press the site's own button.
- Comments on Reddit and YouTube. Open a thread or video that is on your board and the draft lands in the reply box, with a small card in the corner. Read it, change what you like, press Comment. The row is then marked Posted in Recited.
- Pitches. From the side panel, scan the page you are on for contact addresses: mail links, addresses in the text, and the "name [at] site [dot] com" kind. They are ranked the way the app ranks them: a named person first, then an editorial or press inbox, then a general one, with the page's own domain ahead of a third party. One click opens the pitch, subject and body filled in, in Gmail, Outlook or your Mail app.
- The ladder. A pitch goes Drafted > Sent > Replied > Added. Mark each step from the panel or the app. After Sent, Recited re-reads the page every morning and marks it Added the day your brand's name or a link to your site appears; "Check page for my brand" does the same on demand, and when the page is open in your browser it also reads the live page, which covers pages behind a login.
Install
The extension ships as an unpacked package for now. Build it from the repository (apps/recited-extension, pnpm --filter @recitedai/extension build) and load the dist folder at chrome://extensions with Developer mode on. A Web Store listing follows.
Connect it to your project
- In Recited, open Settings > API keys & MCP and create a key with the read and write scope. The extension marks rows sent and posted, so a read-only key is not enough.
- Click the extension's toolbar icon to open the side panel, then the gear for Settings. Paste the key and save. The panel tests the key and shows the brand it is connected to.
The key stays in your browser's extension storage and only the extension's background worker reads it.
Permissions
The extension asks for access to reddit.com and youtube.com (to place drafts) and to app.recitedai.com (to talk to your project). Every other site is optional: the first time you scan an outreach page on a new site, Chrome asks whether the extension may read that site, and you can say no.
What it sends
Only what you see it do: the stage of a row, the addresses it found on a page you scanned, and a request to re-check a page. It reads nothing from pages that are not on your board, and it never reads your mail.
API
The extension uses five bearer-key endpoints on the same API as the article API, so anything else you build can use them too:
| Method | Path | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| GET | /api/v1/outreach/me | The project, brand and key scope |
| GET | /api/v1/outreach/tasks | Open outreach rows with their drafts, contacts and compose links (?includeDone=true for finished ones) |
| POST | /api/v1/outreach/tasks/{id}/stage | { "stage": "sent" }, replied, added, posted, or null to reopen |
| POST | /api/v1/outreach/tasks/{id}/contacts | { "contacts": [{ "email": "…" }], "mode": "merge" } |
| POST | /api/v1/outreach/tasks/{id}/check | Re-read the target page for your brand |
Marking a row added or posted completes it on the board; sent and replied keep it open.
